You have an idea... a story to tell, a concept to convey, an image to portray, but you cannot quite put it all together in the ways which you desire. You need some direction, style, and creative prowess to lead you to the right path.

This is where I can help, by designing a phased approach to guide you through the self-publishing or creation process. Let me assist you in getting your ideas into motion. Allow your concepts to be Dreamscaped!

We will chat to get an idea of what you want out of this journey, what your project is about. For example, as an author of a book, we would determine the genre, the page count, your target audience... and many more details for consideration. Based on your content and the services you need, I will share estimates and dates with you, which will include milestones. Timelines will vary depending on many factors, so I will work with your schedule.

Once agreed upon, I will communicate throughout the process to give you next steps. For those needing editorial work, I will request a copy of your manuscript, along with any artwork or photos you may use and then we will connect. You just select any of the services you need to get to the next steps!

Editorial

Below are some of the services offered during each phase of the book editing process, so you can get an idea of what you might need to meet your publication goals, allowing you the freedom to choose your path forward!

Dreamscaped employs some deviations from the CMOS Guide, as we feel that linguistics should enrich human usage and comprehension just as much as honoring proper guidelines.

Transcripts

Content Digitization		 For those who do not have a digital version or need transcribing, creating a text document of your content, manual, or printed manuscript.

Phase 1

Developmental Editing		 Character development, pacing, engagement, message, tone, overall structure, and big picture editing.

Phase 2

Editorial / Copyediting		 Checking consistency, accuracy, spellchecking, punctuation, word choice, clarity, and flow of sentences or paragraphs. This will continue throughout the editing process as we review the book through the many phases.

Phase 3

Art & Design		 Converting, formatting, and optimizing your images or art for publication, templating content for upload depending on your print on demand service, and offering optional book cover digital art design or redesign for your book's original artwork. You must own the rights to any copyrighted material.

Phase 4

Formatting & Layout		 Setup and styling of font choice, margins, spacing, indentation, and page numbering to ensure readability and consistency across pages, including cover text, images, artwork, & information (front and back).

Phase 5

Final Proofing		 This will be the last overall manuscript proofreading, copyright registration and protection (optional), ISBN registration, and barcode procurement for your book to get a final sign off of approval.

Phase 6

Publication & Distribution		 Here, we will upload your approved manuscript to the print on demand service for publication, request printed proofs and ultimately get author copies for your distribution needs.

Phase 7

Promotion & Presence		 Lastly, you can opt for some marketing or promotional materials, such as author business cards, flyers, banners, or ads for your book signings. I also offer web design consulting if you would like to have a presence online for your publication(s).
